If you never broke up are you still going out???

Ring Ring!! fifth time that day…..

"Um is JD there??" a shy timid voice of a 5th grader picks up the phone.

"I got it mom I will take it up stairs in the office!" I say as I try to hide the fact there is a boy calling for me …..again.

"yeah this is JD." I say as I close the door.

"Yeah….. um Brian is wondering if you……um……want to go out with him," ( The name of the other boy is lost in a sea of fifth grade memories.

"Oh yeah tell him I will go out with him…." I said and nervously hung up the phone.

Brian Hensil was pretty built for his age. He as I remeber had some seriously large teeth. I am a big tooth person. We went out for a couple of week until we both for got we were "going out". We were so happy in our relationship that we never broke up!! To this day I believe the rules are if you don’t break up you are still going out.

Does any one have the official rule book for fifth grade crushes??? Before I married The Band, I told him I was still "going out" with someone. I have had no contact with Brian since my Freshman year of High School where we never talked and he was still ripped. That was 13 or so years ago. I wonder if he has married and told his wife he is still going steady with me??

Brian if you are out there I am happily married an have two beautiful children. Our relationship has really been low maintenance. Hope your life has been as fufilling in every aspect as mine. I think this would be a good time though to break things off. I hope we can still be friends. It is me! Not you. And you will be happier with a single gal I am sure.

FYI: I just bought one of those shredded Beef Jerky in a Skoal like can….at our local gas station. So many memories, so little bloggy.

  3. Hilarious! But being the “player” of all my relationships, I cheated my way out of every relationship I had in school. I think I need to make a public apology now…off to blog it. LOL
